Noisetrade getting a mention on a local NPR station

For all of our Nashvillian readers Derek posted about some media play for Noisetrade over on the NoiseTrade Blog

for our friends in nashville, we understand that noisetrade is going to get a mention on this monday’s morning edition, which airs every weekday morning locally on npr. if you’d like to listen, check the listings at the local npr website (http://wpln.org/). i’m told you can even listen on their website after the fact (and i hope so, since i’ll be on the road…). thanks to nashville public radio for their support!

We will definitely be checking out the website to see if it goes up after it airs and will keep you guys posted.

.net UK correspondent Michaela Forbes let us know that BBC Radio interviewed Our Mr. Webb during his stay in the UK.

Our international man of mystery, DaveJac.net, said that Derek pimped davejac.net during the interview. Look for information there very shortly. No … really.

Thanks again to everyone who took part in our radio email campaign, over 400 emails were sent out with many positive responses. As for the pre-release giveaway, here are your winners.

Over 400 emails were sent out in support of Derek. We got a few negative responses, even more positive ones. Hey, there’s no such thing as bad publicity, right?

We suppose you’re here to see who won the 3 pre-releases that were up for grabs. Well, you’ll be happy to know that derek has you on his mind. Figuratively he has everyone who participated in the email campaign on his mind, as he is thankful to all of you. Literally, he’s got the three contest winners on his mind, well, more like his forehead.

Derek on The Chart and How to Get Old Songs Played

Two items of note today:

Unfortunately, “Take To The World” slipped two places on CMCentral’s The Chart this week. Anything that you can do to help correct this oversight will be helpful. Airplay is what sells records!
After Monday night’s show in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Derek confided to [derekwebb.net] the secret to getting an “obscure” song played during a show: bring him the words to the song. “If you’ll bring me the words, I’ll make an attempt to play it. I remember most of my old songs, but the chances are that I’ve forgotten all of the lyrics. But if you bring the lyrics, I’ll try.” Rumors that [derekwebb.net] has two “obscure” songs lined up for Derek at tonight’s Huntsville, Ala., show are unconfirmed.

“Take to the World” Hits the Airwaves

A new radio version of “Take to the World” will be finding its way onto playlists at your local christian radio station sometime in the next week or two. Rumor is that Derek is really excited about the way it turned out (a lot moreso than the radio version of ‘she must and shall go free’). Due to label constraints, the radio version of “Take to the World” will feature Derek singing the second verse of the song, replacing Dan Haseltine of Jars of Clay (Essential Records).
